Meet your future black belt coaches, who will guide you through every step of your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey—from mastering the fundamentals to executing the most advanced techniques with precision.
Professor Darren Clark- 2nd degree black belt under braulio estima/ currently Fife’s highest ranked practitioner in teaching the art. Has many years competition experience with over 100 medals from all around the globe, Portugal, Brazil, Spain, France and the uk. Teaching classes across fife at both locations weekly, kids and adults classes at all levels.
Professor shah ullah - recently promoted black belt within the team. Many British titles to his accolades, has a very positive impact on all students within the academy, the god father of leverage and technique. Truly teaching the principles and concepts of the power that lies within jiu-jitsu. A great pleasure to have as part of our coaching team.
Coach Ian brook - established himself as 1 of the most experienced kids coaches in the country. Has a wealth of knowledge, and keeps his classes informative and fun. British champion 2023 British silver medalist 2024
Assistant coach David Irvine - naturally stepped in to helping while his kids take part in classes. A community officer of the law, who has a desire to keep our streets safe. Hard worker in the gym and great at explaining techniques. British open 2023 champion with a massive accolade of rapid progression through competitions since starting his bjj journey.
Professor Dawid klasa - our polish born Scottish resident. Promoted to black belt in 2024 Has been coaching the team since we opened our Dunfermline branch. A wealth of experience, keeps the entire team on there competitive toes while making sure the fundamentals get adhered to.
Coach Andrew Sinclair- training himself at both Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline academy’s. He is always helping and assisting with students within taught classes. And the team gets a good treat when he’s covers classes on a regular basis.
Coach Dylan Bruce - has been a staple of our team since the day he joined. Consistently growing and developing as a student himself, he accidentally became a part of our fundamentals coaching team by covering some classes and the numbers on the mats proved he was well liked and well respected. He is an integral part of growing our beginners and new students.
Assistant coach Justin- has been training bjj since 2018 and has recently started his son in our juniors programme. This has made him a natural assistant to our ever growing kids classes. And it’s great to see all the kids enjoying his warmth and presence when he’s in helping them.
Assistant coach jack Thomson - has been a consistent student for many years, recently promoted to purple belt then had to get surgery. So he’s taken on a role of helping at classes and will be back to competition soon/helping the up and coming competitors start competing also.
